Our program offers a multi-sensory approach to education, encouraging the children to use the optimal combination of senses for learning. A balanced curriculum is represented in the classroom environment every day. Children must be 3 and potty-trained to begin our program.
Academic Periods - In groups of 8, children rotate through all of the following academic areas, spending 25 minutes in each subject.
Math/Sensorial - Through sensorial work, a child learns sequence recognition, quantity of numbers and concepts of operation (addition & subtraction). Lessons introduce skills such as odd & even numbers, linear counting, number recognition through 100, fractions, and numbers and colors in Spanish.
Language Arts - Language continues throughout the day in all areas and activities. Specific exercises work with vocabulary development, phonics skills, reading readiness, development of writing skills and composition and sign language. Practical Life continues throughout the day in all areas and activities. These activities help develop independence, concentration and coordination through painting, cutting and writing. Also included are pouring, scooping, and care of self and environment. Through this work, the child develops gross and fine motor skills.
Science/Nature & Geography - We study the Earth as our environment, learning about animals, plants, weather, other planets, rocks and magnets.
Art & Music - The children gain appreciation of famous composers and artists through hands-on experience with numerous instruments and techniques of art that are introduced each day in the classroom.
"Free Time" - Indoor or outdoor play
Country Children's House A family-owned preschool that has been serving the community since 1985.
Our mission is to: *Encourage each child's natural curiosity and imagination which will allow them to explore materials in each provided subject so to prepare them for their next learning environment. *To provide a safe, family atmosphere where children are free to learn at their own pace with individual guidance.
Our teachers focus with each child on developing respect for self and each other by building self-confidence, independence and love of learning that will help each child to grow and develop. We maintain a low child-to-teacher ratio (8:1) allowing for more individual help for each child.
